Center for Middle Way Initiative

Studio Nyandak is providing pro bono architectural and structural engineering services to the Dharamsala-based non-profit Center for Middle Way Initiative. Currently, we are designing a multipurpose gathering space for the Center's headquarters in Gangkyi, Dharamsala using a lightweight steel structure with a fabric enclosure. The design is inspired by traditional Tibetan yak wool drapery.

The Middle Way is the Tibetan people's vision for a future of Tibet with a meaningful autonomy, proposed by the His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama. It is influenced by Tibetan Buddhist ideals of interdependence, coexistence, and non-violence.
