Park Slope Structural Design

Studio Nyandak outfitted a recently renovated Park Slope townhouse with a new three-story rear extension. We used research from our structural analysis of unreinforced masonry to design a steel moment frame to reinforce the enlarged wall openings. We worked closely with the owner, architect, contractor, and geotechnical engineer to design a structural system that reduces the wall thickness and addresses unexpected field conditions.
